Connecting the Sound Card and Speaker (for Voice Option)

For voice mail or speakerphone applications, use a 3.58mm (9/64-inch) plug male-to-male stereo patch cord to

connect the LINE OUT jack on the modem to the LINE IN jack on your sound card. If your sound card does not

have a LINE IN jack, use its MIC jack.

This allows you to hear modem activity whether it is originating or answering a call, or playing a recorded

message. If you do not have a sound card, you can plug an amplified speaker into the LINE OUT jack.
