3. Connect a PC running Windows to the Data connector on the back of the MultiFRAD. Use an

appropriate RS-232 (DB-25) cable. Note that DIP switch 1 must be DOWN for command mode.

4. Connect an RJ-48 phone cable to the Trunk connector on the back of the MultiFRAD. Connect

the other end of the phone cable to the local line jack.

5. Configure the unit in accordance with the Loading your Software procedure in Chapter 3.

6. Once the MultiFRAD is configured for your application, you can disconnect the PC and connect

your data port device.

If the data device has a V.35 interface, the data shunt must be moved from the default RS-232

position to the V.35 position and a V.35 adapter cable must be connected to the data port

connector. Refer to the V.35 Shunt Procedure in the next section. Refer to Appendix A for cable

details.

7. Place the Command Mode switch (Switch 1) in the UP position for the data mode operation.

At this time your MultiFRAD is completely cabled. Proceed to the Loading your Software procedure

in this User Guide.
