Chapter 5 Methods in Sending SMS

Introduction

Fluid SMS Gateway allows client PC to be connected such that the

message can be delivered. There are a few methods to allow user to

send SMS.

 Send via SMTP protocol

 Send via HTTP protocol

 Send via POP3 protocol

 Send via Inserting a record to the log database

 Send via web page

The first method is to send via SMTP. Example shown below is based

on Microsoft Outlook. However, it can be used in all mail clients that

supports connection to SMTP Server.

Send via SMTP Mode

The gateway supports its own SMTP server. The SMTP method

allows messages that are sent via email are converted to SMS

messages. For applications with message sending capability, this

mode is the easiest to integrate. For end user, they often just has to

configure the mail client. No installation is required on the client side.

Below is the step by step description to configure the outlook client.
