Glossary of terms used in this manual

Gateway

This service allows you to forward an

incoming e-mail as an SMS message to a

specified phone number (or phone

numbers), and an incoming SMS

message as an e-mail to a specified e-

mail address (or e-mail addresses).

SMTP

An Internet standard for electronic mail (e-

mail) transmission across Internet

Protocol (IP) networks.

SMS

SMS stands for Short Message Service. It

is a technology that enables the sending

and receiving of messages between

mobile phones.

Transmissions

Transmissions refer to messages that

went in the system for processing and out

for delivery.

Message Status

The categorization of message status as

PENDING, SUCCESS or FAILURE.

Licensed Users

This refers to user account with valid

email address.

Licensed Lines

This refers to number of GSM modem

connected.

GSM Modem

A GSM modem is a wireless modem that

works with a GSM wireless network. A

wireless modem behaves like a dial-up

modem. The main difference between

them is that a dial-up modem sends and

receives data through a fixed telephone

line while a wireless modem sends and

receives data through radio waves.
