Fluid SMS Gateway Manual 0BChapter 1 Introduction 7
Stage 1: Message Sending
Stage 2: Message Outgoing Processing
Stage 3: Message Incoming Processing
A description of every stage is provided below.
Stage 1: Message Sending
During message stage, user can use any mail client that can connect
to a SMTP Mail server or MS Exchange. In the case of MS Exchange,
a connector is required to route email to the Fluid SMS Gateway
server.
To receive email from mail client, Fluid SMS Gateway is equipped to
use its inbuilt SMTP service to capture the mail. Alternatively, it also
has a feature to query remote POP3 account for mail.
By default, the inbuilt SMTP Server listens to SMTP messages on port
2501. This port setting is however customizable via the Fluid Manager
General System Configuration Module.
Stage 2: Message Processing
During this stage, Fluid SMS Gateway will receive the mail via SMTP
protocol and will process the message based on the settings
configured in Transmission Options. Transmission Options are
predefined outbound routing rules that will process the message prior
to sending as SMS. These options are broadly classified into five
categories:
1. Delivery Settings
2. Message Format Settings
3. Failure Settings
4. Delete Settings
5. Modem Settings
