Security - Users
This dialog box allows users to be added, removed, have their passwords reset, and their group
membership defined.
Note: The dialog box is displayed in read-only mode (buttons are disabled) if the currently logged on user
has 'View Security' permission but does not have 'Modify Security' permission.
Name The name drop down list allows a user to be selected from all the currently configured
users. Once selected, the user's password can be reset (cleared), the user can be
deleted, or their group membership can be viewed or modified.
Note:
The (Default) user refers to when no-one is logged on to SIESPACE.
You cannot delete the (Default) user, nor clear its password.
By assigning the (Default) user to a
group, you can control which operations users
can perform without logging in.
New This button adds a new user to the system. A new window will appear which allows
the new user name to be entered.
When a new user is added they will not initially be assigned to any groups, and hence
will have no permissions. They should be selected (in the Name field) and assigned to
appropriate groups using the Add button.
Delete This button deletes the currently selected user from the system.
