Introduction
Welcome to Multi-Tech's new ISDN ProxyServer model number MTPSR1-202ST, a single, secure
gateway that provides multiple LAN users with high performance Internet access. The ISDN Proxy-
Server functions as a TCP/IP proxyserver that resides on the outer edge of your firewall and provides
Basic Rate ISDN Service using its internal 2B+D terminal adapter.
The ISDN ProxyServer features a 10BaseT port for local LAN connection, Command Port for con-
figuration, and an internal 2B+D ISDN terminal adapter for 64K bps per channel or 128K bps effective
bandwidth when software BONDing (Bandwidth ON Demand) is employed. System management is
provided through the command port using bundled Windows® software which provides easy-to-use
configuration menus.

Preview of this Guide
This guide describes the ISDN ProxyServer and tells you how to install and configure the unit. The
information contained in each chapter is as follows:
Chapter 1 - Introduction and Description
Chapter 1 describes the ISDN ProxyServer and provides descriptions of the front panel indicators
and back panel connectors and switch. A list of relevant specifications is provided at the end of the
chapter.
Chapter 2 - Installation
This chapter provides information on unpacking and cabling your ISDN ProxyServer. The installation
procedure describes each cable connection starting with connecting the power cord, command port,
LAN and finally the WAN.
Chapter 3 - Software Loading and Configuration
Chapter 3 details the software loading which configures the IP port and WAN link. The ProxyServer
software diskettes are Windows® based. Each field within a dialog box that is alterable is described.
Chapter 4 - Software
Chapter 4 describes the ProxyServer software package designed for the Windows ® environment.
The Proxy Server Program Group has seven icons that enable Proxy Server configuration, download
default setup, download firmware update, Configuration port setup, WAN device configuration,
remote user database setup, and proxy server configuration uninstall from the program manager.
Each field within a dialog box is explained in detail and when fields relate to each other, those rela-
tionships are explained.
